Strengthening Our Sovereignty

Nation-to-Nation Tour with Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs

Dini ze’, Ts’ako ze’ and Sky ze’ from the Wet’suwet’en Nation are embarking on an international ceremonial tour visiting other Indigenous nations across so-called Canada. This tour would build on our existing relationships and build new relationships based on braiding together the importance of ceremony, land, and the future generations. We propose to visit communities on the way back to Wet’suwet’en yintah and invite ceremony into our relationships according to your protocols and practices. We would like to personally invite you to our territory for a tour end date of mid-August to engage in ceremonies for the land and water and build our relationships with one another based on our core value Wiggus (respect).

Understanding that capacity and funds for hosting a gathering like this could put strain on Indigneous communities, we plan to request funding from environmental and other grassroots groups to support these initiatives. Funds will be used for: flights, travel, food, lodging and support for the host communities.

We plan to launch this initiative during our Peace and Unity gathering in Wet’suwet’en territory July 26th to July 29th and then make our way to Haudenosaunee territory at the beginning of August 2022.

The tour will end with a caravan in so-called British Columbia. We will have a bus available for anyone wanting to join us to end on the yintah for 10 days of ceremony for Wedzin Kwa and our territories that are currently being destroyed and under imminent threat.

COVID PROTOCOLS WILL BE FOLLOWED THROUGHOUT THE TOUR AND ONCE WE RETURN TO THE YINTAH.
